Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and the rest of the Tigers may have been off in Florida for training, but that doesn't mean we Detroiters forgot about them.

It's baseball season, and Motown hasn't forgotten how close we were to a World Series last October. The team will be back in action at Comerica Park this Friday to face off against the New York Yankees, and when they return they'll be welcomed with not one, but several parties.

For Tigers' fans who may not have gotten tickets to the big game, but want to root for their favorite team from somewhere else than the iving room sofa, we've assembled a handy list of Opening Day events taking place in Detroit.

The cacophony will include block parties in Greektown and Grand Circus Park, a tailgate party by the stadium, music at Campus Martius and Djs. That's in addition to events at tons of local bars, like Slows Bar BQ and Foran's Grand Trunk Pub.

Take a look below for a look at what to do during the big day in Detroit.
