Tim Floyd Ejected: UTEP Basketball Coach Escorted Off Floor By Police (VIDEO)

WATCH: Basketball Coach Escorted Off By Police After Ejection

The UTEP Miners received five technical fouls in their 83-76 loss to East Carolina on Wednesday and coach Tim Floyd needed to be escorted off the floor by police.

Early in the second half, Floyd flipped out on the bench and threw his jacket on the floor. As he kept arguing, the referee gave him his second technical foul of the game, resulting in an ejection.

Immediately after the referee tossed Floyd from the game, the coach ran right up to the official and started screaming at him. That is when the police were forced to intervene.

"I think it was a coaching box violation. I had my big toe out of the box, received a warning, turned my back and walked to the bench and got a technical," Floyd told the El Paso Times. "I'd never seen him (the official who issued all the technicals) before and I don't know who he is. I've always earned my technicals and I didn't feel like I earned it."

Assistant coach Phil Johnson took over the team, but later in the half, he also received two technical fouls and was ejected from the game.
