The "Today" show was without one of its biggest fans on Thursday.
Linny Boyette has shown up at Rockefeller Plaza almost every morning, rain or shine, for "Today" for around 20 years. But on Thursday, Al Roker tweeted:
Our good friend Linny, always at our @TODAYshow window, is gravely ill. Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family

Boyette was gone from the plaza during another heath scare earlier this year, and was later welcomed back by Roker, Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer. Boyette has become a fixture of the show and grown close to the hosts, including Meredith Vieira, over the years. Vieira stood next to Linny the day she announced she was leaving "Today."
