Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have one of the longest-running marriages in Hollywood, and each time we see them at a public event, they seem more in love than ever.
That was the case on Tuesday night when the couple attended the Chanel x Museum of Modern Art film benefit honoring Hanks in New York City. When the two stopped to speak with reporters from E!, they couldn’t help but gush about each other.
First, Hanks spoke about his 1996 movie “That Thing You Do!,” which he explained his family has a special connection to because they’re “all in it.” The “Inferno” star then mentioned Wilson was pregnant while they were filming the movie, which makes it seem all the more sentimental.
“We took a two-week break. This lady gave birth to our last child,” he said, looking affectionately at his wife.
“They had to put me in the movie two months later!” Wilson added, before making a quip about her costumes.
Fittingly, as they were at a benefit at the MoMA, Wilson went on to say, “I always thought my husband is a work of art, but now there’s proof that he’s a work of art.”
She continued, “He’s amazing. It’s fantastic and it’s celebratory and I have to say I think his films all over the years have meant a lot to a lot of people. I think there’s something to be said about the choices of the films that he’s done and as a collective thing it’s pretty nice and pretty impressive.”
“I’m a lucky man,” Hanks added. “She could’ve done better.”
