University Of Memphis Students Beaten And Robbed

Three University of Memphis students were attacked in their off-campus home by four masked assailants this weekend.

Seniors Rich Harrell and Michael Bridges were both wounded, according to the Daily Helmsman. Harrell, Bridges and Bridges' cousin William Taylor were bound and gagged by duct tape. Harrell and Bridges have since been released from an area hospital.

Approximately $10,000 worth of items were lost by the victims, including wallets, cell phones, keys, gaming consoles and computers.

According to News Channel 3, this is the most severe of a number of robberies that took place at or near the university over Halloween weekend, and the school's police force has issued a safety alert in light of the heightened crime.
