UPDATE: According to AllThingsD, Verizon's network should be coming back up throughout the day. Here's the official statement:
Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is returning to normal this morning after company engineers worked to resolve an issue with the 4G network during the early morning hours today. Throughout this time, 4G LTE customers were able to make voice calls and send and receive text messages. The 3G data network operated normally.
America's most reliable network is having a little trouble living up to that title this morning.
An outage to Verion Wireless's cellular network has hit users over all America once again, making this the carrier's second major outage in under a month.
While the previous outage affected only Verizon's prized 4G LTE network, this time around, both 3G and 4G networks appear to be down, according to complaints on Twitter and the Verizon support forums as well as reports on several technology websites, including our AOL sister sites Engadget and Techcrunch.
The user complaints, from all over the country, paint the picture of service disruptions affecting users from New Hampshire to Colorado and in between:
No G's in Southern New Hampshire. It's been in and out since we went to 4g last week.
Cleveland Ohio... no 3G 4G as of 7AM... spotty 1X (maybe)... glad to see it's not just me....

Service went out at 1am MST - it's 5am MST and still no data.How does verizon plan to compensate us? This is kinda rediculous.

Verizon has yet to officially acknowledge the outage; the official Verizon support Twitter handle, @vzwsupport, does not appear to fielding complaints.
Verizon Wireless may have won J.D. Power's honors for the most reliable network for two years running, but that vaunted network has had its share of problems in 2011. There was the great 4G outage from two weeks ago, and Ina Fried of tech site All Things Digital points out that the LTE network also went down in April 2011.
We'll update when Verizon's network comes back up or when the carrier issues a statement.
