FBI Footage Shows Spy Activity in Arlington (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON -- More than a year after the thwarting of a Russian spy ring, the FBI has released surveillance video, photos and documents that detail spy activity, including footage taken in an unidentified Arlington County park near the nation's capital.

Three of the 10 Russian spies arrested and later deported were Arlington residents. In the video above, one spy, Mikhail Semenko, is seen performing a "dead drop" under a bridge in the park, instructions given to him by an undercover FBI agent posing as a Russian spy handler according to court documents.

The counterintelligence investigation, code-named Ghost Stories within the FBI, lasted nearly a decade. Materials pertaining to it were released in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, following a request by The Associated Press and other news outlets. Many documents are heavily redacted, with some entire pages withheld.
