Xbox LIVE users are more engaged with video news than MSNBC.com's desktop audience says Executive Producer, Stokes Young, in this video interview with Beet.TV

While console users watch 12 clips per session on average, desktop audiences only consume half this volume of video news says Young. He explains the main reason for this, is the extent of choice available for news consumption on the desktop.

As one of the only major news organizations on the games console, the publisher is constantly seeking ways to engage audiences and drive click-through rates.

Much of the content for newer platforms originates from NBC News, the site's parent news organization.

But, for events such as the Oscars and Grammys that promise a rich mix of content, including interviews and slide shows, MSNBC.com work with XBox LIVE to schdeule promotions.

We spoke with him yesterday at Beet.TV's Video News Strategy session at MSNBC.com in New York.
