Vince Young, Eagles Agree To One-Year Deal

Eagles Get Backup QB For Vick

The Philadelphia Eagles have apparently found a new backup quarterback behind Michael Vick. According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, Vince Young has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Eagles.

The deal is expected to be announced on Friday.

The Tennessee Titans officially cut Young on Thursday.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk wrote that he likes the move for both sides, especially because it puts an end to the Brett Favre-Eagles rumors.

Doug Farrar of Shutdown Corner noted the series of incidents that led to Young's release, explaining that the question will be whether he is ready to grow up and understand the responsibilities of the quarterback position.

In November, the 28-year-old stormed off the field after an overtime loss to the Washington Redskins. There was a heated exchange after the game between Young and head coach Jeff Fisher and the quarterback was eventually told not to attend a team meeting.

Team owner Bud Adams said Young would eventually be released back in January.

UPDATE: The team announced the move Friday night. Vince Young is officially an Eagle.
