Vintage Recipes: The Saddest Grilled Wiener

In a cookbook geared toward men, this seems like an odd choice.

The great thing about vintage recipes is that they never disappoint. Either they provide you with a gem of a recipe that would have otherwise been lost, or they're so bizarre and gross that they're just awesomely entertaining. We felt pretty certain that anything coming out of "The New Wolf in Chef’s Clothing: The Picture Cook and Drink book for Men" cookbook was definitely going to fall into the latter category. And it did not let us down.

This cookbook, written for men with kitchen "no"-how, keeps the words to a minimum and relies on cute illustrations to get recipe instructions across. From what we can tell, it's successful. But the choice of recipes is questionable.

While we understand the relevance of including a "how to grill a hot dog" recipe in a cookbook geared toward men, we're more than a little surprised by the pain and, well, death, these hot dogs undergo in the recipe. We think it's an odd choice. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
