Wake-Up Call For Mom Of Four Who Says She Doesn't Want To Be A Mom Anymore

Heather, a mom of four, lost her mother and oldest daughter within months of each other. She has been so devastated that she admits she has "checked out" from her remaining three daughters and lost her purpose in life.

In the video above, Dr. Phil looks at what she has told herself or others:

"I should just give up."
"I don't want to be a mom."
"I'm failing my family."
"I'm completely broken."
"No point in taking care of myself."

Dr. Phil asks, "If that's what you're saying to yourself over, and over and over again, what possible outcome could you have?" Pointing out how powerful her internal dialogue is, Dr. Phil explains, "We don't react to what happens in life; we react to what we say to ourselves about what happens in life … Grief is not a disease. You are not broken. You don't have the right to curl up in a ball and sit on the sidelines. You have a responsibility to put one foot in front of the other and behave and think your way through this."

How can Heather overcome her pain and move forward with purpose -- for her own sake and for her daughters? Watch more as Dr. Phil gives her the tools on Wednesday's episode, “A Mother of Four Who Says: 'I Don’t Want to Be a Mom Anymore.'”
