Water parks in New Jersey run the gamut from indoor parks open year-round to extreme thrill parks, and they all offer fun for the whole family. Mountain Creek Water Park
, convenient to New York City, North Jersey and Northwestern Pennsylvania, offers extreme water fun away from the Shore. When they say "mountain creek," they aren't kidding--the park was built into the side of a mountain and is the summer companion to Mountain Creek Ski Resort.
Cliff Diving
offers two cliff dives for expert swimmers: Little Moe, at 18 feet high and Big Moe, at 23 feet high. Thrill-seekers also come for Bombs Away, a super-slide ending with an 18-foot drop, H2-oh-No!, a 99-foot vertical body slide, and High Anxiety, a multi-passenger ride through a giant funnel.
Thrill Rides And Chill Rides
In addition to thrill rides, Mountain Creek Waterpark offers a wave pool, tube rafting, Tarzan swings and six attractions just for kids. Families can rent cabanas for the day for lounging and ordering meals.
Meal Deals
Visitors can purchase $9.99 meal deals from the on-site Luigi's Pizzeria or Pete's Burger Barn in advance or in person, or order from Mountainside BBQ. No outside food is allowed in the park, but there is a picnic area just outside the gate.
Safety Record
In 1996, there was a park on the site of Mountain Creek Waterpark called
, which had a less-than-stellar accident and safety record. Our research revealed no notable news reports of accidents or safety issues at Mountain Creek Waterpark.

Hours: Memorial Day through Labor Day, 10:30 a.m. (10 a.m. most Saturdays) to 6 p.m. (7 p.m. most Saturdays and Sundays). The park may close early due to inclement weather.
Price: Those taller than 48", $35.99; seniors and those under 48", $25.99; children 2 and younger, free. Parking is $4 per car.
Sahara Sam's Oasis
Want the fun of a water park during the off-season or on a rainy day? Sahara Sam's Oasis offers indoor water attractions that are only offered elsewhere in the region at seasonal outdoor water parks--and, it's open year-round.
Surf's Up, Simulated
Indoor surfing is one of the biggest draws--Sahara Sam's Flow Rider surf simulator is the only year-round surfing simulator in the area. Visitors can ride with either a body board or flow board.
The Samazon
Other attractions at Sahara Sam's include water slides, water flumes and a tube river ride and "
," which is billed as the world's tallest ropes course. The facility also has a children's area and arcade.
Standard Park Fare
Sahara Sam's has a full-service cafe featuring snacks and soft drinks, as well as beer and cocktails. No outside food is allowed unless it's medically necessary; patrons may leave and return the same day with their wristbands.
