Wedding In A Hole: Iowa Couple Marries Inside Building's Foundation (VIDEO)

Why This Couple Married In A

Where everyone else saw a giant hole, Benjamin High and Jessica Presler saw the perfect wedding venue.

The Iowa couple tied the knot on Friday in a hole, which is the foundation of a building currently under construction. Once construction is completed, the building will house two businesses where they plan to work (Philip's Diamond Shop for High and Urban_Vintage Hair Studio for Presler).

The newylweds told Patch that getting married in the hole was "delightful."

"We figured we were going to be stuck together for the rest of our lives so we may as well get married in a hole that also represented the foundation of our futures," High said. "Or, you know, starting in a hole."

Other couples who have tied the knot in a meaningful, albeit seemingly unromantic, location include a California couple who married in a coffee shop parking lot in 2011 and a Washington, D.C. couple who married earlier this year on the street corner where they met.
