I was given the opportunity to review and visit the new Westin Hotel that is under construction in downtown Nashville. I was somewhat hesitant to review the Westin because I only stay in boutique hotels when I travel. I prefer the individualized service that boutique hotels offer their guest and my readers have come to know me for featuring boutique hotels. However, the Westin is a chain hotel with boutique charm.

What's different
Nashville has a booming economy and tourists are flocking to Nashville by the droves. The city is becoming known as a food and music mecca. As I toured the Westin with GM Ray Waters, I immediately understood why they wanted me to view the property and talk about it on a blog that only features boutique hotels. The Westin will stand 27 stories high; have 454 rooms, and will feature Nashville's highest rooftop bar. The hotel gives you the best of both worlds, having all of the amenities of a large hotel, while providing attention to detail that you expect to find in boutique hotels. This sets the Westin worlds apart from other luxury hotels in the area; such as the Loews, Omni, or the JW Marriott.
The hotel was designed by The David Mexico Design Group, in association with Bullock Smith and Partners. All guest rooms and suites will feature the Westin Heavenly® Bed; featuring lush sheets, down cushioning and a patented pillow-top mattress. The Westin is committed to its guest well-being and will feature The Rhapsody Spa, which will have nine treatment rooms. A peaceful relaxation room and a full menu of signature treatments, including full body massages and facials.

Here are my top 7 reasons why this Westin will be the "go to" hotel for those individuals who love the boutique hotel feel but want the amenities that large chains have to offer:
Local feel.
The Westin hotel will inevitably give its guests a genuine feel for Nashville, TN. For example, The Hotel’s location is right across the street from Nashville's Music City Center right in the heart of downtown Nashville. Guest can walk out the hotel’s front door into the exclusive Gulch area for dining and there is endless shopping on Music row. And let's not forget, Nashville is home to some of the best music you can find anywhere in the country!
Rare experience.
While some people stay exclusively at boutique hotels, The Westin will allow guest to treat themselves to staying at a larger facility with the small hotel feel characterized by a more intimate and luxurious environment. If you are a SPG reward member you will be able to bypass check in. Your smart phone will automatically check you in and become your room key. No longer will you have to stand in long lines waiting to be checked into your hotel room.

There is a cozier feel to the rooms because the hotel will not be choked with throngs of people and monotone rooms. By contrast, The Westin will focus on each guest having a specific unique experience rather than simply functionality. Let's not forget the fully equipped fitness center or the 2 restaurants the property will house; Decker & Dyer and the Oak Steakhouse out of Charleston, SC.
New property.
The property is scheduled to open late October 2017 and will feature a state of the art rooftop bar with a plunge pool surrounded by glass walls; that will allow you to relax while people watching, or enjoy a signature cocktail made by one of their certified mixologists. Conversely, if history and architectural character are your fancy; the hotel contracted on of the best architecture firms to design the layout, and they left nothing untouched.
Upscale designs.
This Westin will invariably bring a heightened sense of design and decor, which is one of the great differentiators between this hotel and other luxury conventional hotels in the area. The Westin has an impressive architectural design, fascinating art pieces, custom accents and lighting; in short the works. You will feel a bit more sophisticated than you would in any other standard property.
Higher level of pampering.
They have brought back the old-school approach to customer service. Guests are pampered, from plush lobbies, furniture and bedding; to higher quality food, beverage and concierge service. The Westin Nashville also features Rhapsody Spa – Nashville’s preeminent resort-style facility – for guests seeking to indulge and relax in luxury.
Intimate atmosphere.
While the Westin is not a boutique hotel, it has managed to have the look and feel of a boutique hotel. The warmer ambience and smaller front desk area surprises its guest. Yet the hotel is large enough to offer all of the amenities you desire without all of the crowds you would have at a normal chain.
Located at 807 Clark Place, The Westin Nashville is walking distance to Nashville’s vibrant entertainment district; South Broadway, as well as Bridgestone Arena, Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Other nearby attractions include the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Frist Center for the Visual Arts and The Grand Ole Opry.
