Yep. You're right where you belong. Hello and welcome to your new Reboot Illinois!

After surveying many of you, listening to your suggestions and conducting research on the best of the web, we're pleased to introduce the new website you helped create.

We're confident you're going to enjoy a terrific experience with the features you want:

  • Improved mobile experience and navigation on the site designed for mobile use first and foremost.

  • Quick and easy access to the topics, locations and types of content you prefer.

  • Faster load times.

  • Fewer pop-up ads.

  • Crisp, inviting imagery.Vastly improved search function and the ability to search our archives using date filters you set yourself.

  • In-content tagging and commenting for users who set up accounts through email or Facebook.New, quick blurbs link you directly to the very best Illinois news and views we've found for you from all over Illinois.

  • For our advertising partners, there are new sponsorship and position options not to be missed.

    • It's one-stop shopping for everything you like and need in Illinois!

    Let's explore the major upgrades in more detail:

    • Our Front Page drop-down menu gives you the option to choose either the topics you're most interested in or the type of content you most like. Love our lists? Go right there. Want to watch our videos? Just choose them. Want the latest on the state's pension crisis? We've got it listed for you.

  • The Front Page itself offers you the best of the best with featured stories up top in a rotisserie you can explore by clicking arrows on the sides of the bold, top story. It also offers you a fast way to find what's newest on the site, what's trending or the most popular lists.

  • And, most exciting, when you create an account, you can select what types of topics and content you're most interested in seeing. Once you set it up, your choices will always be ready in the For You section on the right side of the Front Page.

  • We've also got quick links to the latest Quick Reads, Videos and our exclusive Fast Facts Infographics.

  • Our new Community section allows you to see news just from a geographic region you select and it also allows you to meet our guest writers and see their guest views, searchable by author.

  • The new Action center now is the home for our Sound Off tool that allows you to pick a topic and send an email about it to the governor and four top legislative leaders along with your own state representative and state senator in four quick taps or clicks. Soon, this section also will include our Scorecards that allow you to compare major candidates stands on the top issues as well as their views in their own words.

  • The About section takes you where you'll want to go to learn more about us and where advertisers can get information on how to reach our coveted audience through a variety of advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

  • Once you choose a story, list, map, infographic, cartoon or video, there are a few ways you can interact with the rest of Reboot's growing community. Our social share buttons, stacked on the left side of every post, give you a quick way to use social media to spread what you've found with friends and family. You also can click on a particular word or phrase inside a post and a window will open for you to share a comment or see what others have said at that point in the post and react to them. This new commenting approach allows you to have your say on a particular point and keep a thread going rather than having to scroll down to bottom of a post and then scroll through all the other comments on other points.

  • The new site also was designed for bigger, better navigation of all of cartoons and videos.

    • And this is just the start. Soon, we'll debut a cool new Point/Counterpoint debate feature as well as an events calendar for meetups, town meetings, watch parties and more.

They've secured our ongoing partnership with PolitiFact as PolitiFact Illinois so we can bring the Truth-O-Meter to Illinois, and now they've invested in a dramatic and robust upgrade of the website with tons of new tools and features we know you're going to love because you asked for them.
