WGN Morning News Crew Creates Amazingly Cheesy Video Tribute To Deceased Deer

Local News Crew Creates Amazingly Cheesy Video Tribute To Dead Deer

At this point, almost nothing is out of the question for the always unpredictable WGN Morning News crew -- and Tuesday morning's show was no exception.

One day after the Chicago-based team went into breaking-news mode to report live (embedded above) on firefighters' efforts to rescue a deer that fell through the ice of the Des Plaines River in west suburban Willow Springs, Ill. and later died, the WGN anchors paid tribute to the deer.

(UPDATE: Unfortunately, the video is no longer available to view and was removed. We apologize for the inconvenience.)

Naturally, the music of Sarah McLachlan was involved.

The deer still had a faint heartbeat at the time it was pulled from the frigid water on Tuesday, but hypothermia had already set in and an effort to revive the animal at the Animal Welfare League was unsuccessful, WLS reports.

Rest in peace and know you were loved, our deer friend.
