White Christmas In Chicago 2013? The Odds For A Snowy Holiday Are Looking Good

A White Christmas In Chicago? All Signs Point To..

Hope you're ready for some more white stuff, Chicago!

WGN meteorologist Tom Skilling is predicting a Clipper-type storm system will bring between one and three inches of snowfall to the Chicago area over about 10 hours beginning late Christmas Eve on Tuesday night.

A "white Christmas" is defined as a Christmas Day when at least one inch of snow is on the ground -- something that has happened of the last 50 years in Chicago, Skilling notes. The anticipated snow will mark the city's first white Christmas in three years.

Meanwhile, temperatures remain brutally cold in the Windy City. Wind chill temperatures reached as low as 25 degrees below zero Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to NBC Chicago, and the high on Tuesday was only expected to hit 17 degrees.

The city is expected to get some relief from the brutal cold over the coming weekend as the high on Saturday should hit the upper 30s, AccuWeather is forecasting.
