Would the ACA be repealed if it wasn't preceded by the word Obama? Was Donald Trump's campaign based on the brag that he would be able rescind the health care promised to millions of people? Since when is that a point to be proud of?

Would the ACA be repealed if it wasn't preceded by the name "Obama?" Was Donald Trump's campaign based on the brag that he would be able rescind the health care promised to millions of people? Since when is that a point to be proud of? When have our morals sunk so low that we pride ourselves on the fact that we can make health care unaffordable again, allowing millions of diseases and disorders to go untreated or undiagnosed, sunk so low that we are willing to do this because not only was this created and enforced by democratic president but also a black one?

This action will reach into our communities and affect people who we never considered. For example, the 16-year-old high school student whose family relies on the ACA to cover a 2,800 pre-existing condition for her mother, and would not be able to afford health care otherwise. Yet the "silent majority" feels as if she does not deserve it. The ACA doesn't just benefit "freeloaders," but instead in this case for a single mother who works a full time job who needs the law to help afford the price of health care.

Who decides who is deserving of health care and who is not? Obamacare has protected people from getting dropped from plans due to pre-existing conditions consider "too expensive," it has lowered the cost of health care price inflation, it has deemed all major medical expenses as minimum requirements that must be covered by insurers, in has let almost half of uninsured americans receive free or low cost health care.

Yet despite all of the benefits it poses to democrats and republicans alike it is still said as "too liberal," or mainly due to the fact that republicans want to overturn every major policy implemented by Obama. President Elect Trump, who was born into a life of wealth and excess, has now deemed himself educated enough on the lives of the people who have not been handed everything to tell them they don't need the ACA when in reality they truly do. This is not something trivial but instead a critical tool that could be used in order to help cover expenses for medical procedures that could be life or death. Not having health care leaves millions vulnerable to not being able to get the treatment they need or deserve, in spite all of this the Trump administration still feels as if this should be repealed because of it's name, it's creator, the race of the president who implemented this program that benefits 20 million people living in the United States of America. How is the Trump administration supposed to support and dutifully serve its constituents if they revoke their ability to get free and accessible health care, in turn prohibiting them from getting the treatment everyone deserves.
