Half of all potential voters ages 18-29 are not registered to vote, which is the lowest rate in the past 16 years of Pew Research Center's polling.

Fewer young people are paying attention to the presidential campaign too, and 63 percent are "definitely" planning to vote, down from 72 percent in 2008.

So why aren't they more engaged in the 2012 elections? What's holding them back?

The Huffington Post's Tyler Kingkade joined HuffPost Live's Ahmed Shihab-Eldin to speak with people about young voter engagement in this election.
