Suzie Q, 2011, oil and egg tempera on aluminum panel, 48 × 36 inches, Courtesy Koplin Del Rio Gallery.
Suzie Q is a visual updating of the biblical tale of Susanna and the Elders. The female model for this piece had muscles where none suspected they existed, and she is capable of performing a one-handed handstand on top of a flag pole. The men are a collection of my graying male friends, and my bearded self more than once.
