Today, the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund launched an aggressive ad campaign aimed at turning out Arkansas voters to defeat Senator Blanche Lincoln in next week's run-off.
Blanche Lincoln is among the biggest winners when it comes to Big Oil's campaign cash, but next week Arkansas voters can make her the biggest loser. The Gulf Coast disaster is proof enough that Big Oil can't be trusted with our nation's energy future and Arkansas families deserve better than a senator who sides with BP and other oil companies at the expense of a more sustainable, secure economy and a cleaner, safer environment.
LCV Action Fund's TV ad "Gusher" will be featured on both broadcast and cable stations in Little Rock and highlights Sen. Lincoln's Big Oil money and continued efforts to side with the corporate polluters filling her campaign coffers. Complementary web ads will simultaneously target Arkansas voters online. LCV was among the first to call for Sen. Lincoln's defeat this year by naming her first to LCV's 2010 "Dirty Dozen" list on January 28th. We also endorsed Sen. Lincoln's challenger Bill Halter early in the campaign on April 21st.
