Far too small at age 19 for baseball, his favorite sport, Ferrer decided to try horse racing. His long and successful career -- he's 50 now -- has forged a man who experience of and knowledge about the Sport of Kings is tough to surpass. Having taking advantage of advances in nutrition and fitness over the last few decades, Ferrer says he's in better shape and more prepared than his competitors, who are usually 20 to 30 years younger.
