The U.S. is also on track to have the fewest tornado-related deaths in any year since record keeping began.
The twister, which reportedly had wind speeds that reached 127 miles per hour, made landfall in a Watford City RV park early Tuesday.
At least two counties were struck by tornadoes, ripping apart homes and other buildings.
More than 17,000 people lost power in the aftermath of the storm.

The system also destroyed homes and businesses, downed power lines and snapped trees.

Authorities say it killed 98 people and injured hundreds more.
More than 30 tornadoes were reported on Tuesday alone.
