The Internet phenomenon known as "The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge," in which nominated participants are filmed as buckets of ice water are dumped over their heads to raise awareness of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, has thus far spurred an incredible $88.5 million in donations to fund research aimed at treating and curing the condition more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Nevertheless, experts are fairly certain that a new follow-up initiative called "The ALS Bucket of Scalding Hot Water Challenge" could lead to considerably more direct donations.
