FOX News Takes Their Propaganda to Wikipedia

Not content to only spread their lies through their cable channel, radio shows, and website, FOX News has been rewriting history on Wikipedia. Hacker Virgil Griffith created a tool that can trace the IP addresses of people making edits to Wikipedia entries. Turns out that someone from FOX News' IP made this change on Al Franken's Wikipedia page regarding FOX's lawsuit against Franken for using the term "Fair and Balanced" for the title of his book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. The entry went from:

The lawsuit focused a great deal of media attention upon Franken's book and greatly enhanced its sales. Reflecting later on the lawsuit during an interview on the [[National Public Radio]] program ''[[Fresh Air]]'' on [[September 3]], [[2003]], Franken said that Fox's case against him was "literally laughed out of court" and that "wholly (holy) without merit" is a good characterization of Fox News itself.

To this:

The lawsuit focused a great deal of media attention upon Franken's book and greatly enhanced its sales. Reflecting later on the lawsuit during an interview on the liberal [[National Public Radio]] program ''[[Fresh Air]]'' on [[September 3]], [[2003]], Franken said that Fox's case against him was the best thing to happen to his book sales.

You can check out the changes FOX has made to Wikipedia here.

This is just another example of FOX's misinformation tactics. Like O'Reilly, they slap the word "liberal" or "far-left" (aka "satanic") to anyone or anything they want to discredit, even if it has nothing to do with the story they're reporting. Then they try to hide facts from their viewers (and apparently Wikipedia users) that might endanger the carefully crafted bubble of lies and propaganda they have created. You can see this pattern expressed over and over again in our FOX Attacks series about the Environment, Bloggers, Black America and Barack Obama.

Don't let FOX rewrite history. They don't want you to know the truth about anything, whether it be the Iraq war, Democrats, Bush, themselves, anything. Don't let them spread their lies.
