Shining Star - Rihanna

They say sex sells, and it certainly seems to be true in the case of Rihanna's new naughty song, "S&M".

The pop star is going into the record books this week with the popular tune. The remix of "S&M" with fellow diva Britney Spears has given the 23-year-old her tenth #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the youngest and fastest solo artist to achieve that feat. According to Billboard, it took the Barbados native four years, 11 months, and two weeks to go into the record books.

One entertainer who may not be too pleased with Rihanna's record? Mariah Carey. She used to hold the title of quickest and youngest musician to reach ten chart-topping hits. But now that Carey's pregnant with twins, she has two chances to take back the crown from Rihanna! Just hope those kids can sing.

Falling Star - Snooki

Oh the horror -- Snooki's gone Hollywood!

From the looks of it, it seems that the pint-sized "Jersey Shore" star is doing what many suddenly-famous folks do -- slimming down big time. Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, tweeted a photo of herself this week sporting a much tighter physique. In a follow-up tweet, the reality starlet wrote, "As everyones (sic) planning their night at the club, I'm wondering when Golds [gym] closes lol. #motivated." Looks like she's taking the "G" in "G.T.L." (that's "Gym. Tan. Laundry." to the uninitiated) to heart.

While normally, getting fit might be applauded, Snooki (who has admitted to struggles with her weight before) just isn't the same with her new, toned bod! There's a certain appeal to the 22-year-old's loud and proud, over-tanned, liquor-guzzling, "take me as I am" attitude. The fact that Polizzi's trying to shed some pounds shows she actually does care what millions of MTV viewers think. And that's a bummer.

What's next? She shows up somewhere without her orange glow? Say it ain't so!
