Life-Changing Rituals

The rituals certainly don't have to be like mine, but if you are some how letting go, renewing, and thankful in these rituals I believe your life will change for the good.

When I was a small child my nighttime ritual began and eventually grew into what it is now. Numerous people whom I have come in contact with today have been talking about rituals. This forced me to look at my own rituals and how my life has been changed as a result. I have a morning ritual and an evening ritual.

My morning ritual:

I say a short prayer.
I relax every part of my body asking to let go and heal.
I feel a Holy energy flow through me from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet.
I ask the Holy Spirit to live and breath through me as I go throughout my day.

Mornings are the time I feel closest to God. This is the time that my best ideas come to me (or you could say I am open enough to let them come to me), and some days I am so inspired I must write them down. Many of these ideas have actually come to fruition.

Here are a few:

I could move across the country to pursue my dream of working in the television news business. I did it.

Dreaming that I would give birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is now 17.

Starting my own business. Done.

These ideas do not come to me every morning. Sometimes there is nothing and I just start my day. Throughout the day (when I remember), if worry, frustration, or any negative feeling comes up I feel it first. Then I ask the Holy Spirit to live and breath through me. Normally I feel a peace come over me.

My evening ritual:

I say a short prayer.
I relax my body.
I thank God for all of the people in my life.

Normally I fall asleep quickly, and the morning ritual starts all over again when I wake up. We are all a little different, but so much the same. I challenge you to try out a ritual in the morning and evening if you don't already have one. The rituals certainly don't have to be like mine, but if you are some how letting go, renewing, and thankful in these rituals I believe your life will change for the good.
