Grey's Anatomy Recap: Can They Break Up Already? in "I Must Have Lost it in the Wind"

sort of forgot that we were going to have to deal with this. Could anyone make sense of that opening flashback? I watched the clip of it on ABC's website about four times and I still don't understand -- did her mother try to kill herself?

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 11, Episode 1 of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," titled "I Must Have Lost it in the Wind."

Someone page Yang, please. I have a few major problems with the premiere this season and where they think all of this is going.

Meredith's Sister Issues
I sort of forgot that we were going to have to deal with this. Could anyone make sense of that opening flashback? I watched the clip of it on ABC's website about four times and I still don't understand -- did her mother try to kill herself? When did she give Maggie away? Why didn't Richard know about it until now and why does Maggie know everything?

Also, the whole conversation between Maggie and Richard was so totally lame! Her anger at the vending machine was uncomfortable -- why does she seem so cheerful even when she's yelling? I know it was a device to help us understand that Richard has to keep his secret or whatever but it was literal and forced. Blegh, blegh, and more blegh. Can I have a tequila, too?

The Board Seat
Who is going to get this? I can't handle Bailey and Alex delivering monologues about themselves for very long and if Bailey doesn't get it -- she's gong to quit. Is this how it ends? Yang, Bailey, everyone important? Meredith and Alex's revived friendship -- from hopping into bed to forcing each other to get a drink -- might be interesting, but it just feels so sad.

Get it Together
Callie and Arizona just need to agree on one thing and soon. Otherwise I am rooting for divorce. Same for Meredith and Derek -- why is she so mad he declined the offer? Because she doesn't want him to resent her or because she was secretly, horribly, as she might say, wishing for an excuse to end the "The Miracle?"

So many questions! What did you guys think or were you too busy pre-tweeting "Scandal" to pay attention? Let me know @karenfratti.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
