Do you ever make anything graphic for your business? If you're like most entrepreneurs, you'll end up doing your own graphics at some point, whether you want to or not! It's important to stick to a few graphic design rules and to create a guide you and your team can use to keep your brand consistent.

It's best to use:
  • 2-3 fonts
  • no more than 2-3 colors
We use one set of fonts for our web presence and another for printed materials. You can customize this sheet with your own branding elements by
and plugging in your own logos, color codes and fonts. Not sure how to get your colors? Check out my favorite tool:
.
Next, put that sucker somewhere where it's useful to you (and your team!):
  • as your computer wallpaper
  • in Evernote
  • your team's shared files
  • printed out by your desk (mine is taped to the wall along with the tax codes I use for accounting and all of our Femworking passwords) - I can't stand not having this information at my fingertips and having to go hunt for it. Ain't nobody got time for that!
  • as a desktop widget image
And when it comes to designing, be sure to check out PicMonkey and Canva, as these can save you lots of time, especially if you don't know Photoshop.
