Since I won the Victoria's Secret model search last year, things in my life definitely started changing. One of the big perks I noticed was all the invitations and opportunities to attend these star-studded events that I had never even considered going to before. In January this year, I was approached to host my very own party at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. I've always wanted to see what Sundance was all about, so I packed every piece of warm clothing I owned (which is limited knowing that I am a bathing suit/lingerie model) and headed to snowy Park City, Utah with my two sisters Danielle and Mason.
At Sundance, I met the Australia Luxe Collective team and it was there that they asked me to be a celebrity "Stomper" in their STOMP campaign. I thought the concept was amazing because I was able to combine my love for fashion and charity work and help raise money for a cause that I am really passionate about. For those of you who aren't familiar with Australia Luxe Collective's STOMP campaign, basically myself and 12 other celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Goldie Hawn, Cindy Crawford (who I absolutely love!), Lauren Conrad and others all signed a pair of Australia Luxe boots and they are currently being auctioned off on Auction Cause via eBay. Each celebrity then chose a charity to align themselves with and all proceeds from the auction go directly toward each celebrities corresponding charity of choice. The auction is live from May 6th to May 16th, so bid bid bid! :)
I knew I was going to pick the charity, A Chance for Children because I really believe that God has given me a gift to want to help orphans and underpriveleged children and show them that they truly matter! This local Los Angeles charity provides homeless and disadvantaged kids with opportunities from athletic and academic events to cultural and community activities to show them what it's like to have fun. Basically, they help make kids smile! I first fell in love with this charity when I met the founders of the organization, Tai Collins and Gregory Bonan, and saw how strongly they cared for all of the children that they are involved with. They are 100% in it for the children and that is a beautiful thing! I feel like I have a TON of love to give and these children are great to share it with! It is such a blessing to be able to see a child who felt hopeless, get filled with love, hope, and confidence. Their quote says everything, "Exposure creates reality" -- so true and I just want to expose them to as much love as I can!
As an extra bonus, whoever wins my autographed boots in the auction, I have also promised to spend a day with the winner volunteering at A Chance for Children in LA. I just checked the auction online and my boots started at $195 and they've had 5 bids and they are now up to $280. I am very excited to see who will be the lucky winner to take part in impacting kids lives and helping to make a difference!
