"¡Párate derecho!" Si alguna vez te han dicho esto, conoces la incomodidad de oír esa orden, la frustración de intentar mantenerte "erguido" y no conseguirlo, y la molestia de querer complacer a quien te lo pide (sea una persona o la sociedad) y sentir muy adentro que eso no está bien para ti.
Cuando intentas "pararte derecho", ¿cuánto tiempo aguantas? Apuesto a que no mucho.
Esas palabras son como si nos pulsaran un botón y en automático empezamos a apretar los músculos, a subir acá, a bajar allá y a ponernos muy incómodos intentando estar derechos. También nos hacen sentir que no somos suficientes, que no estamos "bien parados" en el cuerpo ni en la vida.
Cuando te pones a ti mismo "derecho" siguiendo el mandato externo, seguramente no aguantas mucho tiempo en esa posición. Y no porque tú estés defectuoso, sino porque no tienes la información necesaria para que tu cuerpo te responda como tú quieres. Esa información es lo que te voy a compartir hoy.
La verdad de por qué ni tú ni nadie puede pararse "derecho" es muy simple: porque nuestra columna vertebral no es derecha. Tiene curvas, necesarias para la estabilidad y el equilibrio, sin ellas, nos caeríamos.
Tenemos 4 curvas en la columna:
- La curva del cuello, que va hacia adentro
- La curva dorsal que va hacia afuera
- La curva lumbar que va hacia adentro
- La curva del sacro y coxis que va hacia afuera
.
Cuando la columna vertebral está armonizada, es decir, cuando mantiene sus curvas naturales, podemos pararnos erguidos con facilidad y elegancia.
Sin embargo, con las actividades cotidianas, y al pasar tanto tiempo sentados, perdemos esas curvas, ya sea por que las exageramos, o porque las desaparecemos. Mucha gente pasa varias horas así:
Tenemos que aprender a restaurar las curvas naturales de la columna para poder estar alineados.
Cuando esas curvas no están armónicas, tenemos problemas.
Si la curva dorsal, que orgánicamente va un poquito hacia afuera, está exagerada, entonces se crea la temida "jorobita". Nos sentimos rígidos, duros, en la espalda alta y en el pecho. El abdomen se colapsa y la pelvis se rigidiza.
Como dejamos de mover esas vértebras, las demás tienen que suplir ese trabajo, así que aparecen molestias y/o dolores en el cuello y la cintura. Probablemente respirar no sea tan fácil, con su correspondiente carencia de oxigenación para el buen funcionamiento de todo el organismo, y por supuesto, nuestro ánimo decae. El vernos y sentirnos así nos hace sentir insatisfechos.
Tu cuerpo es tu templo y tienes que aprender a entender su lógica interna para llenar tu vida de salud, bien-estar y vitalidad. El conocimiento de tu cuerpo y tus sensaciones son la guía para usarte de la mejor manera.
La buena postura, la elegancia y la atracción vienen de la facilidad de movimiento, de estar erguido sin esfuerzo ni tensiones. Si tú estás incómodo en tu cuerpo, los demás perciben esa incomodidad. Si estás parado con facilidad, sintiéndote estable y flexible, y en paz contigo mismo, exactamente así te van a apreciar los demás.
En este video, te muestro cómo son exactamente las curvas de la columna y te comparto unos ejercicios súper eficientes para reducir la curva dorsal, la temida "jorobita". Esto, claro, de una manera amorosa contigo mismo, y guiándote para que tu organismo de manera espontánea se auto-regule, desde dentro, para la salud y el bien-estar, y no copiando un modelo externo de postura. Haciendo estos ejercicios vas a descubrir cómo tu cuerpo elige de manera espontánea el estar más derecho, y tú no tienes que hacer esfuerzo para ello.
Para hacerlos ve lento y suave, sintiendo cómo tu columna responde a cada movimiento. Hazlo pequeño para evitar molestias. Tu columna es un sistema (bueno, todo tú lo eres), y cuando una curva se armoniza, espontáneamente las demás también mejoran, ¡así que toda tu columna te va a agradecer que hagas estos ejercicios!
