This time of year, most people are focused on finding Christmas presents, decorating the tree and baking treats. Sadly, lost in the hustle and bustle of the season, they forget about one absolutely crucial part of the holidays: cocktails.

So that you enjoy something more than just milk or non-alcoholic cider, we've put together a drinking plan that goes from Christmas Eve through the end of the holiday! It's our gift to you.

Kick off your Christmas by mixing up a big bowl of traditional Eggnog on Tuesday night. Once you taste this delicious concoction, you'll never ever think about buying the pre-made stuff in the carton again. Another good option is Holiday Horchata -- if you're willing to spice up your celebration with a bit of tequila, coconut water and almond milk.

Then on Wednesday morning, as you're unwrapping presents and feasting on a decadent breakfast, fix the Teatime Toddy. The tasty twist on the classic formula includes both spiced rum and red tea.

In the afternoon, whether you're having a late lunch or an early dinner, serve the simple yet elegant Champagne Cocktail. The refreshing combination of bubbly, sugar and Angostura Bitters is great before your meal and with turkey or ham.

Then in the evening, as you check out your gifts and doze in front of the TV, make yourself and any remaining guests a pot of authentic Scandinavian Glögg. The boozy mulled wine is just the thing to cap a perfect Christmas Day.
