WHAT'S HAPPENING
The six lawmakers told the Iranian ambassador to the U.N. that the "wrongly imprisoned Americans" needed to be released.
Cruz also said it sets a "very dangerous precedent."
The president waited to speak about the deal until the American prisoners were en route, an official said.
