A wing part believed to belong to the missing plane was found on the island last week.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Wednesday that plane debris found on the shore of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean belongs to missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, Reuters reports.
"Why the hell do you have one confirm and one not?"
It may be the first sign of the flight, but many questions remain.
"It is my hope that this confirmation, however tragic and painful, will at least bring certainty to the families and loved ones of the 239 people onboard MH370."
The president may have just compromised his global human rights agenda.
Debris found earlier on Reunion Island is being tested.
Experts hope to finally find clues to the flight that vanished in March 2014.
It will take at least another day to learn whether the aircraft remnant could help unlock the mystery of the missing flight.
