The U.S. president's remarks arrived on the same day that his predecessor praised the autocratic Hungarian leader as "fantastic."
“There’s nobody that’s better, smarter or a better leader than Viktor Orban," Trump said at the Mar-a-Lago meeting.

The Hungarian prime minister made the outrageous claim about Trump in an interview with Tucker Carlson.
Orban passed a law in 2021 banning the use of materials seen as promoting homosexuality and gender change at schools, citing the need to protect children from “LGBTQ propaganda."
