On this week's episode of "Conversations with Nicholas Kralev," meet the woman who is trying to change the State Department's decades-long aversion to formal training: Ambassador Nancy McEldowney, director of the Foreign Service Institute.

She talks about the challenges of teaching diplomacy, recent changes to her institute's curriculum, and innovation in diplomatic training.

McEldowney, a former ambassador to Bulgaria, joined the Foreign Service in 1986. Most recently, she was vice president of the National Defense University.
