The actress/singer makes babies... and bank.

You know by now that there are few things we love more than when one of our favorite celebs launches an affordable fashion line. But an entire affordable fashion empire? Be still our beating and budget-conscious hearts!

It might come as a surprise that the fashion moguless we're talking about is none other than Jessica Simpson, whose Jessica Simpson Collection now includes clothing, denim, swimsuits, watches, perfume, and kids clothing. That's right, we're talking about the same bubbly blond who crooned over the loudspeakers at our middle school dances, re-glorified Daisy Dukes, and, okay, had a little trouble understanding the difference between canned chicken and tuna.

You know, the same gal whose company is likely to hit $1 billion this year, if it hasn't already.

To put her fashion empire in perspective, she's doing roughly the same volume as fashion icon Michael Kors. Her jeans are sold in more than 650 department stores and recently it was reported that 600 fans lined up to meet her at an in-store appearance.

That tells us that, whatever she's selling, America is buying. And that shows real financial staying power.

The birth this week of Simpson's baby girl, Maxwell Drew, is only going to add to her estimated $100 million net worth (not to mention her happiness. Duh!). Rumor has it that Simpson already has a baby clothing line in the works (a possible collab with her sister, Ashlee, also a mom) as well as a $3 million contract with Weight Watchers for losing that baby weight.

We've seen other celebs making bank off of making babies: Nicole Richie, Tori Spelling, and Bethenny Frankel all have profited from being mommies. But with $750 million in company sales last year and a "$5,000 per tweet" online endorsement presence, Simpson is in a league of her own.

We can't wait to see Simpson's new line for baby... not to mention the first pics of Maxwell, which will undoubtedly fetch six figures. With mommy raking it in, it's clear that little baby Maxwell wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth -- she was born with a platinum one!
