Response to my recent review of the tribute to Mort Sahl included several comments wondering if a DVD would be available. Unfortunately not.
The producers originally wanted to tape the event for broadcast, but weren't able to secure video rights to all the performances.
"That," I was told, "would have meant we'd have to start tape, stop tape, etc.--which would have disrupted the flow of the show. The alternative would have been to lose some headliners, and we didn't want to do that either."
Oh, well. Maybe there really is no business like show business.
