Viktor Frankl chronicled his life as a Holocaust survivor in Man's Search for Meaning. It's such a compelling book that people can't help but read it several times.

Frankl points out that we can't dodge suffering, but we can choose to find meaning in it and move forward.
Frankl said: "The one thing you can't take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one's freedoms is to choose one's attitude in any given circumstance."

The theme of Frankl's book is a powerful, life-affirming message. The book makes a deep impression about the sanctity of life in the most tragic of circumstances, and it has wide appeal.

At the time of Frankl's death in 1997, the book had sold more than 10 million copies in 24 languages.

After reading more about Frankl's book, I realize how crucial it is for people to look at struggles through his eyes. Life on this earth may be filled with strife, but there's hope to transform struggle into something far-reaching like the ideas in his book.

It's when you have the deepest appreciation for life imaginable, the seeds of suffering bloom.
