2014-07-17-jogging.jpgThe body tells the truth about one's emotional well-being. In short, if there's an illness, distressed emotion precipitated it.

This is according to Deepak Chopra, the medical doctor who doubles as a bestselling author. Chopra insists that the mind and body are inseparable. One example is that fear is both an abstract feeling as well as a tangible molecule of the hormone adrenaline.

Emotional distress can cause havoc in a body. Chopra explains, "recent widows are twice as likely to develop breast cancer and the chronically depressed are four times more likely to get sick."

This is precisely why gratitude is beneficial from a physiological standpoint. It buoys you with uplifting thoughts and feelings.

If you're suffering from an illness, why not try a regimen of gratitude? There are no side effects.
