What do you want to be when you grow up? As a child, I would have most likely said, "A princess!" Now I know that is very unlikely. John Lennon said, "When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy.'"

So, I ask myself: What will make me happy?

Happiness. What is happiness? Happiness is the state of being happy. To achieve happiness, you have to enjoy every day and live life to the fullest. When you are doing something that you may not like, try to see the positive in it. For example, if you are doing a homework assignment that is boring, difficult or just busy work, instead of just sitting there and complaining about it, get it done! Just think about how good it will feel to have it finished and over with. That feeling of happiness that you have completed the task is how you should feel every day when you grow up and go to your job: happy.

If you wake up in the morning and are dreading to go to work every day, you will most likely have a life filled with stress and won't be living to your full potential. Don't pick a profession that makes a lot of money but you hate, or a profession that you are doing to please someone else. Do what pleases you! Yes, I know that sometimes we have to do things that we don't enjoy to make ends meet or because we just have to, but that shouldn't stop you from pursuing your dreams.

When I grow up I want to wake up and feel happy to go to my job. The work that I am doing should't feel like work. It should just feel like fun. If you do what you love your life will be filled with happiness and you will always have something to look forward to. So I guess I can say that I want to be a happy individual when I grow up.

But what do I know? I'm only fourteen.
