The WNBA Finals are here again and we're back for a third straight year. Being in my eighth season I'm truly blessed to have the opportunity to compete for another title. It makes me think about how far I've come in my career and those who've helped me along the way.
Back in my rookie season, I had so much to learn. It was all so new to me. I had so many different coaches and teammates that it was tough to keep consistent message in the locker room. Looking back at it now as a veteran, I have a much better understanding of the game and I credit Coach Reeve for making me a better player.
Coach wears her heart on the sleeve. With her passion and intensity, how can you not want to improve and play hard every second of every game? We see her intensity every day of the season, both in practices and in games. She's an extremely hard worker and her personality rubs off on our entire team. When she first came to the Lynx, she demanded that I improved my defense while maintaining my offensive efficiency.
Without her leadership, we'd never be in the position we are now. Playing in our third straight Finals, you never know if it'll be your last chance at a title. We need to approach each game as if it's our last, and one thing is for sure: with Reeve at the helm, we're going to bring the intensity and hardworking mentality that she provides every single day.
