Transformation is upon us and for many, this is bringing up the most primal of issues: survival. In the past few weeks alone I've listened to nearly a dozen personal stories from friends and clients who've lost someone close. The topics of security and survival are coming to people's awareness so they can recognize what most needs to be healed, resolved and transformed. For people to feel balanced in who they are and where they are going, they require basic necessities, and necessities are based on each individual, for there's no one necessity that provides safety or security. Everyone has their own definition of safety and security, however, true safety and security come from connection to the divine, for once you are connected to this energy form of life and sustenance you have a resource of higher value than anything available to you on earth. Fortunately for us, there are many ways to build this connection, to transform, and have the lives we desire!

One of the reasons why so many people are feeling pressure and stress is because the things that they had attached themselves to in the past for safety and security are no longer serving them. This is only happening so that they get honest with what they've created, tapping into what really serves them on an authentic level based in integrity, and in removing the false identity they came to believe in, thus revealing the truth of who they really are. So what can we do to soften these transformational side effects and get to the shining destination we are being guided to?

Change is happening at many levels and since most of us are focused on the physical world of effects, it would help to look at the non-physical, causal world of the spiritual and the energetic. Energies are constantly flowing through our bodies, in and out of many points. The primary energy centers (that usually number seven) are called "chakras," which in Sanskrit means "wheels." Each chakra has its own function, gifts and effects, depending on its state of balance or imbalance.

The chakra that rules our instincts, security and survival is the root chakra, which is located at the base of your spine. The root chakra is the first energy point that sustains your body, your vehicle, and your physical identity on earth. The molten core of the earth vibrates out into all of the energies of life through its magma, out to the soil and water that bring sustenance to all life forms. This is the same as the root chakra, which is the vibratory core of your entire being. It is the energy source that connects you to earth, and through this energy source all things can be sustained with the support, life force and energy to grow and expand. Without this energy source, the body couldn't sustain your spirit and therefore would deteriorate, resulting in sickness, disease and even death. The more empowered this energy, the more connected to the earth you become. The less empowered, the more distant and away from the earth and people you feel.

When the root chakra becomes out of balance, all aspects of your life become out of balance. You will not feel that you belong here and you won't create authentic relationships that sustain your life. You won't feel connected to anything or anyone, as if you're going through the motions without any real purpose. You'll feel like a spirit that is floating outward, instead of going inward and connecting to make real authentic relationships, commitments and honoring your needs. This affects every aspect of your life, from your health to your emotions and career, because you aren't anchored into physical reality.

The time for change is now, and the most important thing you can do is to make commitments to be here on earth. These commitments can be in relationships, in your home, your job, your endeavors and in your passions. Physical activity and exercise, being in nature, spending time with loved ones, eating healthy, sleeping well, the comfort of your home: All of these you can commit and ground into now! Every connection you make from a committed place creates a cord that keeps you here on the planet, putting another brick in your new foundation. These connections ignite awareness and forge a path to a life grander, more beautiful and more delightful that you ever could imagine!

This is the foundation on which to build your dreams.
