Up-and-coming R&B sensation Austin Brown performs his hit single, "City of Angels," live in the studio and chats about his highly anticipated "Highway 85" mixtape launching Christmas eve day.

Austin promises that his debut, three-part mixtape will be full of stories about love, heartbreak, living life and trying to make it every day, with pop-centric soulful tunes inspired by The Beatles, The Stones and of course the Jackson Sound.

As the nephew of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, Austin considers himself a music lover and a passionate student of the craft.

"It's what I've always wanted to do," he says of his foray into the music business. "It's what always spoke to me. And it wasn't just being a singer to be a singer. It was more-so I just love sounds. I love how they came together and I just the love the artform of it."

His mixtape is also being released as a part of the new Myspace (where you can find his single now!), which is receiving a great deal of hype for having big names like Justin Timberlake attached to its revival. "What's cool about the new Myspace is that they're really focusing on the music and spreading your platforms and bringing all of your fans together," Austin says.

Making his mark as a part of the next generation of music lovers, Austin is a bit hesitant to flaunt the Jackson name, because, as he states, "those aren't my accomplishments," but it's difficult for his listeners and fans to ignore those similar vocal tones. "I own it," Austin says of coming from music royalty. "I'm honored to be able to be a part of a such a family that really, really worked hard to create great music that will be be around forever."
