There is something about a cat playing a piano that is not only surprisingly entertaining but also mysteriously awesome. A feline taking on such a uniquely human role somehow demands that our brains signal 'glory.' Nobody knows why this is the case and it will forever remain a mystery (barring any remotely serious scientific investigation); so, it seems we can do nothing other than take advantage of this baffling situation. Luckily, the Internet is loaded with videos of cats playfully attacking babies, acrobatically hanging from ceiling fans, and stealthily stealing food, and it is time that these cats and their owners got some recognition.

"The Friskies" is an attempt to do just that. Presented by Friskies cat food, "The Friskies" are looking for the best cat videos of 2012. If your cat is caught riding a robot vacuum, chasing a laser pointer, or wedging itself into a shoebox, you could win $15,000. Aside from producing a number of videos that are great for celebrating cats and zoning out at 2:30, Friskies is also donating five cans of food for each vote/shared video. Donations will go to 25 charity partners across the nation, and totals could reach as high as 250,000 cans.

Cats undoubtedly give us love, attention, and friendship, but they also can give us $15,000, which you can learn more about here. In the meantime, watch The Secret Life of Cats to learn about your cat's wild side before you put it on a treadmill dressed in a pirate costume.
