Rasmussen says Jackson, Jr. "Top Choice"

A new Rasmussen Poll out this morning has Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. with a solid lead among Illinois Democrats, and a huge lead (81% ofthe vote!) among Illinois African-Americans!

Reminder: Jackson would also be the only African-American in the U.S. Senate; was a National Co-Chair for the Obama for President Campaign; is only 43, which means he could potentially serve in the Senate for a long, long time; has the credentials, with 13 years experience in the House; and is a very strong progressive.

Governor Blagojevich has said he will make the appointment by the end of the year.

(disclosure note: I have known Congressman Jackson, Jr. since the Jackson '88 presidential run.)
