Welcome to America® where government agencies are now store fronts and everyone makes a profit. Except the shoppers. We used to be citizens. Now we are all mall rats.

So when do you finally call it what it is?

When is it safe to shout: "They're full of crap and they're doing it again!!!!"?

When you're in a soup line?

When people are standing on street corners selling genetically modified apples?

When the soon-to-be deployed domestic army unit ratchets up and kicks your door in for reading The Grapes of Wrath (see report on the Democracy Now! website: "Beginning in October, the Army plans to station an active unit inside the United States for the first time to serve as an on-call federal response in times of emergency. The 3rd Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent thirty-five of the last sixty months in Iraq, but now the unit is training for domestic operations. The unit will soon be under the day-to-day control of US Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command. The Army Times reports this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to Northern Command. The paper says the Army unit may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control. The soldiers are learning to use so-called nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals and crowds.")?

When somebody posts footage on YouTube of Bush, Cheney and company cavorting in Dubai weeks after the "election" is over under a banner that reads: "Mission Accomplished, Suckers!!!"?

This one trillion dollar naked power grab is only the most recent and perhaps the most colossal of all the scams BushCo has pulled off. It is absolutely like taking candy from a nation of wittle babies. Goo goo gotcha!

Has the government been effectively dismantled and its infrastructure replaced with retrograde, lowbrow mockeries of the previously earnest, reasonably well-functioning entities which would have attempted to redress the mountain of offenses wrought by this pseudo-government?

Um...yes!

Operation Northwoods was a blueprint of sorts. "1984" was another. Maybe We The People need our own blueprint. Can you say "Liberty, equality, fraternity"? And just for reminders, let's compare and contrast our current situation with one that we've all studied -- well, heard about---memorized Cliff Notes on for the "no child left behind" exam -- oh, never mind (with an able assist by WIkipedia):

"Louis XV brought France to virtual bankruptcy with his wars and ineptitude."

(Ditto George Bush.)

"An inefficient and antiquated financial system unable to manage the national debt, both caused and exacerbated by the burden of a grossly inequitable system of taxation."

(Ditto what's happening now.)

"The continued and conspicuous consumption of the noble class, especially the court of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette, despite the financial burden of the populace."

(Golden parachutes, shrinking middle class and outsourcing of jobs, anyone?)

"High unemployment and high bread prices, causing more money to be spent on food and less in other areas of the economy."

(Substitute "gas" for "food.")

I could go on but I don't have academic credibility (it took me two years to pass algebra). Suffice to say anyone laboring under the delusion that George Bush, John McCain and every other apologist for their widespread criminality are just misguided is about as aware as a bespectacled, glossolalic, hockey mom, for surely if it were mere incompetence they would have been run out of the country in a Hummer, right?

No wonder the bastards prize ignorance for all and have no desire for the public to know history. Luckily the current financial fiasco hasn't affected the price of hoes and torches. I got mine. Got yours, brother and sister?
