The Horror of School Attacks: The Destructive Force of the Weapons of Choice

Seeing the horrific loss of life today, I, like everyone else, tried to think of how such tragedies can be avoided in the future, so that not another parent will lose their beloved child to such a barbaric rampage. And then I saw an article which shook me even more.

Today saw not one but two attacks at a school; one in Connecticut, the other in China. In Connecticut 20 children were attacked and killed. In China, 22 kids were attacked, but none died. The difference between these two most horrific and heartbreaking stories is that one of the men used guns. The other had only a knife.

The old NRA argument is that guns don't kill people, people kill people. The truth however, is so much more straightforward: people with guns can kill a lot of people.

I am so sorry for the loss of life today. I pray we will finally see the last of such horrors.
