These Kiwis may actually be onto something. When I interviewed Matt Daimler of SeatGuru.com (a website that helps passengers find the best seats on a plane) about SeatGuru's 2009 survey of 1,600 airline passengers, he said 30% of passengers report making good friends during flights and 27% of that group say the friendships began as romances. So perhaps Air New Zealand is onto something.

Until Wednesday, July 15, 2009, you can even save $200 off the already discounted $780 Roundtrip airfare. $580 is less than a six month membership to many internet dating sites. I'd rather look for love in New Zealand than home alone in front of my computer monitor.
