The president reacted after Arizona's Supreme Court ruled that a 160-year-old law criminalizing most abortions could be reinstated.
“I am a mom, I am a brand new grandma, and I support life,” the Iowa Republican senator said, addressing the Arizona Supreme Court’s ruling on the procedure.
When state after state restricts abortion access ― sometimes via unelected judges ― access is endangered for millions of people in neighboring states, too.
“By their actions, the message from this chamber is that they are so pro-life they will kill you,” a state senator wrote.
But he didn't say a thing about a possible backdoor ban.
He later said he wouldn't sign a national abortion ban.
“Looks like our prayer team stirred up some god-haters," Anthony Kern said.
The Republican Senate candidate may find it tough to distance herself from her past statements in favor of the 1864 law.
The law dates back to 1864, predating Arizona's own statehood.
"He believes in his political survival," the California Democrat said of Trump's new statement on abortion.
